Why Does It Matter for the Exam?
- Launch: 1 July 2015, Digital India, MeitY
- Run by: National e-Governance Division
- Legal validity: Issued Documents are equal to original, Uploaded Documents are not
- Entity Locker: for organisations and MSMEs
- Common errors: saying that every uploaded file is legally valid, or giving the Election Commission as its owner
As an analytical point, DigiLocker removes paper from service delivery and builds trust through verified issuers. Its limits are uneven acceptance, privacy risks and exclusion of people who are offline, so offline alternatives and strong data rules are needed.
