Nationality
- Must be a citizen of India
- Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan may also be eligible
- Tibetan refugees who came before 1 January 1962 with intent of permanent settlement
- Persons of Indian origin from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries, or Vietnam — with permanent settlement intent, subject to government clearance
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university
- Final-year students may apply provisionally
- Degree certificate must be produced before the interview stage

Physical & Medical Standards

Paper I — General Ability & Intelligence

Paper II — General Studies, Essay & Comprehension
Descriptive (written) · Duration: 3 Hours · No negative marking

Only written exam qualifiers are called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This stage is qualifying in nature — marks are NOT added to the final merit list.
