Overview
The MAARG CAPF Mentorship is a 6-month, 1-to-1 mentorship programme for the Central Armed Police Forces examination: a personalised plan, three mentorship sessions every week, Daily Practice Papers and descriptive-writing practice for Paper-2. It is built around the exam's two demands: an objective paper and a descriptive paper.

Roadmap
Paper-1 vs Paper-2
The mentorship prepares you for both CAPF papers: Paper-1 is the objective front and Paper-2 is the descriptive front. Each needs a different kind of practice, so the plan treats them separately.
| Paper-1: The Objective Front | Paper-2: The Descriptive Front | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | General Studies, aptitude and current affairs, with Prelims-style PYQ analysis | Essay, precis, report writing, counter arguments and comprehension |
| How you practise | Daily Practice Papers with unit-wise question sets | Daily writing practice, with mentor evaluation of what you write |
| What the mentor does | Reviews your scores, finds weak units and adjusts the plan | Reviews structure, language and argument, and sets the next writing target |
The weekly sessions and the monthly review keep both papers in balance, so the objective and the descriptive work move forward together.
P2P Mentorship
Personal-to-Personal (P2P) mentorship gives every aspirant 1-to-1 customised attention: your mentor is your guide, strategist, evaluator and accountability partner. Sessions run in flexible modes, online by video or offline at the centre.
What your mentor does
- Breaks down the UPSC CAPF syllabus into manageable parts.
- Creates a practical preparation strategy.
- Monitors your academic progress.
- Reviews your tests and practice papers.
- Resolves conceptual doubts.
- Maintains your discipline and motivation.
Three sessions every week
There are 3 mentorship sessions a week, coordinated at times that suit you. Each session has four purposes.
| Purpose | What happens |
|---|---|
| Progress review | Assessing coverage of planned topics and evaluating productivity |
| Strategy refinement | Adjusting the preparation strategy based on performance and upcoming targets |
| Doubt discussion | Clarifying conceptual or subject-specific challenges |
| Motivation and discipline | Maintaining focus, confidence and preparation consistency |
3-Tier Planning
Every aspirant enters with a unique academic background, strengths and challenges, so MAARG builds a custom-tailored preparation strategy through a 3-tier planning framework.
| Tier | Level | Activities | Outcome |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1: Daily actionable plans | Micro-engagement | Topic-wise syllabus coverage, concept learning and reading targets, answer-writing practice, daily revision slots and practice through Daily Practice Papers (DPPs) | Consistent academic engagement and disciplined study habits |
| Tier 2: Weekly performance reviews | Meso-evaluation | Completion of targeted syllabus segments, performance review of the week, conceptual discussions with mentors and identification of weak areas | Evaluate progress and adjust strategy accordingly |
| Tier 3: Monthly strategic alignment | Macro-alignment | A comprehensive progress assessment, mock test performance evaluation, strategy refinement and strengthening of weak subjects | Keep the preparation tracking toward the 6-month goal |
Descriptive Writing
Descriptive writing is practised daily and evaluated by your mentor, so that you can improve structure, language and argument for Paper-2. The training follows the same two-part approach as the MAINS Answer Writing Studio.
What good descriptive writing has
- Structured presentation.
- Clear articulation of ideas.
- A logical flow of arguments.
- Effective use of examples and analysis.
What the training focuses on
- Writing concise and relevant answers.
- Managing time effectively during the exam.
- Developing analytical and critical thinking skills.
DPP System
The DPP (Daily Practice Paper) system makes sure the syllabus is covered systematically, with consistent practice and conceptual reinforcement.
Structure
- Unit-wise question sets.
- Coverage of the entire UPSC syllabus.
- Fully integrated with your study schedule.
Four objectives
- Strengthen conceptual understanding.
- Improve retention of topics.
- Practise applying knowledge in exam-oriented questions.
- Develop analytical thinking.
Concept Building
Strong conceptual understanding is the foundation of success, and mentors build it in four steps: explain, deconstruct, guide and resolve.
- Explain: break down difficult topics in simplified ways.
- Deconstruct: break complex concepts into manageable components.
- Guide: provide targeted, subject-specific guidance.
- Resolve: actively resolve doubts during mentoring sessions.
